Apply to Zeus

Hello aspiring Zeus of Sport writers/innovators,

You have all chosen a mighty yet reachable goal for yourselves.  Please forward this message to anyone you think may be interested in the information you find below.  The number of applicants will not impact your chances of joining our staff, but rather, will simply increase the impact we can have.

To reiterate briefly about who we are at Zeus, fundamentally, we are not journalists or reporters first, we are writers. As writers, we want our personalities and our voices to grow and develop in our articles. And we pride ourselves on our high-quality output.

What are our articles about? Well, they are all sports related (for now). We are a sports blog after all (for now). But that’s about as far as the restrictions go. We want our coverage to be wide in scope, and passionate and creative in delivery. We post articles about the economics of international basketball, the Rugby World Cup, the downgrade of the NBA (AA-), the shock of the Pittsburgh Pirates in first place (short-lived), slow-pitch softball, and even Entourage. The point is, we want our writers to connect all sorts of things to sports. Our writers don’t need to know everything about sports to write for Zeus. The most important thing is that our writers love to write.

So here is where you all come in. This quarter we want to grow. We want to market, redesign our website, and increase our content. Read: this is an exciting time where you can impact an organic entity. New staff will play a legitimate role in the growth of the website, not to mention you will all get your articles published as soon as you want.

We ask you all to fill out a brief application which will give us a sense of how you want to participate with Zeus. We are looking for writers, editors, marketers, web designers, and more. The application should be pretty harmless, don’t worry. Please have fun with it.  Just get it back to us and we’ll be on our way after that.

In addition, the current Zeus team (your future family) is dialoguing about a serious Zeus expansion where we write about issues not sports related. We’re thinking Chef Zeus, Zeus Academy, JuicyZeus, Film Zeus, Tech Zeus, etc. We are looking for fresh input, and this question will be included in the application.  You could be the next CEO of Chef Zeus if we see a fit.

We look forward to reading all applications and creating a dynamic new family.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
